Dita Von Teese is hosting a cocktail making masterclass to celebrate the launch of her new cocktail lounge, Cointreau Prive, would you like to attend? Hmm. Yes please.
Tuesday evening may have been the official launch of the Cointreau Prive at 215 Picadilly, but Thursday saw Dita Von Teese and a handful of bloggers take part in an exclusive cocktail making masterclass, lead by none other than Ms. Teese herself. Guests at the launch may have been treated to one of Dita’s famed burlesque acts, but we got her up close and personal – and her tips on making the perfect cocktail – Cointreau based of course.

It’s not every day I get to say “oh, hello Dita Von Teese”…
Last Thursday, however, was a little different. I was invited to an evening at the Cointreau Privé pop-up lounge, hosted by the lady herself.
After walking up and down Piccadilly numerous times and seeking the assistance of no less than three supposed southerners who had no idea, I finally located the venue, tucked away beneath the bustle of the city. The lounge is a sumptuous affair, draped in red velvet with some lovely art deco touches and just the right number of glittering chandeliers.

When the invitations to take part in an intimate cocktail making class with Dita von Teese were sent out I bet the RSVPs came back quicker than you can say ‘Cointreau Privé’ – which is the newest, time-limited, members only cocktail lounge* in London, styled after the art deco home and ambassadored by the owner of what must be the slimmest waist (22in, can be laced down to 16.5in!) in the world.

You may recall the first three photos from the original Cointreau Privé in Paris. These are slightly higher resolution. The black and whites are from the photographer’s websites; The Night Day and Kround.
