A four-page feature from More magazine, the UK edition. I’m not actually sure which issue this is from. I just have the pages. However, there is a post regarding it on Alan Carr’s website, dated September 23, 2008. So an October issue, perhaps?

“Mata Hari is one thing that I was approached on. Hopefully it’ll happen. It’ll be amazing if it does. I’ve been studying acting with this amazing coach who worked with Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, Eva Mendes and all these amazing women. I really enjoy the process, but I’ll wait for the right project to come along as my first love is being a showgirl.”

Dita is featured in the November issue of Cheesecake. Specifically, her new Wonderbra range is featured in the magazine’s regular “Things We Love” section.
Cheesecake is an independent e-zine, freely available for download in pdf form. Based in Dallas, the magazine publishes pin-up and retro related articles. Ava Garter was interviewed for the October issue, in which she talks about her career, burlesque and The Black Glove. Dita comes up in the interview a few times. I know many of you admire Ava as well (as do I) so the issue will interest you in general. There’s also some great pin-up girls from each issue!
The last 2 photos here are candids available on Ava Garter’s website. There are many more.
Dita and I have been friends for almost 20 years now. From moving out of our parents homes and becoming the top go-go dancers in the circuit in LA and Orange County to our first real strip club jobs ,then add all of the boyfriends and a couple husbands that have come and gone, she and I have experienced a lot of life’s ups and downs together. We have a great understanding of each other that is more like a sisterhood at times and I am so grateful for it. Some women live all of their lives without ever finding a great “Best girl friend” so I don’t ever want to take her for granted. When I was newly separated I came up with the idea that I might like to try going back on stage. Dita’s answer was simple and exactly what I needed to hear. She just said “Why can’t you? ” I thought about it for a while and realized that she was right. Anything you want is possible , all you have to do is go for it.
