Want to smell and look like the Queen of Burlesque? I mean, no one can look as stunning as Dita Von Teese. The woman is strikingly beautiful and poised. But her sophisticated fragrances and 1940s-inspired lingerie can make any woman feel like a pin-up girl. This April, the burlesque dancer, model, and actress will debut select pieces from her Von Follies lingerie collection (tons of lace, mesh and velvet ribbons) and her two fragrances, Dita Von Teese and Rouge, on HSN. It’s her largest mass retail partnership yet! I got to sit down with the Dita to talk about her fragrances (you won’t believe the inspiration behind them) and how she gets that drop-dead-gorgeous red lip.

Burlesque star Dita Von Teese is no stranger to designing lingerie — her retro-glam underpinnings for Von Follies are already available in Europe and Australia — but, for the first time ever, her pin-up-worthy creations will reach a much wider audience, thanks to HSN.

On April 23rd, the at-home shopping giant will roll out new pieces under Von Teese’s Von Follies label (think satiny bras with lace overlays, and 1950′s-inspired high-waisted briefs, priced from $25 to $45), and a namesake fragrance ($20 to $75), which — and we almost never say this about celebrity scents — actually smells sexy. In a very “I wear blood red lipstick the way other women wear chapstick,” kind of way. Which Dita Von Teese does.

Burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese has provided us with some very useful beauty tips in the past — we all remember to pluck our nipple hairs before a date by now, right?

So we were pretty excited to sit down with Ms. Von Teese to get some more beauty insight as she launched her new fragrance and lingerie collection for HSN on Tuesday. In between burlesque dancing, maintaining a cosmetics brand and serving as muse to Christian Louboutin, the 40-year-old has found time to design her very own collection of undergarments that combine the detailing of her signature vintage lingerie with the superior fit of modern bras.

Dita’s distinct sense of style can also be seen in her two new fragrances, Dita Von Teese and Rouge, which both have that full-body smell you’d imagine Marlene Dietrich or Rita Hayworth wearing. Fortunately, Ms. Von Teese gave us very explicit instructions on just where to spritz these Old Hollywood scents.

“I always go for the back of the neck and behind the ears,” she told us. “I also like to put it in my cleavage area because a lot of heat comes from there.”

Duly noted. If you’d like to spray for yourself, Dita Von Teese’s collections for HSN launch April 23. Watch our interview with her below for more of Dita’s style tidbits!

This week I got to check an item off of my bucket list as I had the chance to chat with burlesque dancer and nostalgic fashion influencer Dita Von Teese about her upcoming collaboration with HSN. The lingerie she crafted was inspired by her own collection of vintage underpinnings and is set to run from Miss & Plus Sizes in all styles, along with her two fragrances. Find out what she has to say about everyone’s current fascination with all things retro and what advice she has for girls searching for their own vintage look.
