Dita Von Teese Wearing Vivienne Westwood
by Westwood Ho!
“When I was little, I remember watching Jayne Mansfield in The Girl Can’t Help It and making a promise when I grew up I was going to have curves like that: the clinched-in waist, the big bust, and those ample hips that just popped off the screen. I’ve never made a secret about having my breasts done. It’s something I’m proud of. The message I want to get out is that anyone can do this. Honestly, without my bag of tricks, I am pretty ordinary – it’s just that I have a pretty nice bag of tricks.”
– Dita Von Teese
“Pin-up star, Burlesque performer and Actress Dita Von Teese is a living, breathing work of Art, doll-like and created in the ideal image of the bygone Hollywood era. I can only imagine what it must take, the sheer hard work needed to keep up that level of Glamour. When I say that she isn’t a natural beauty, I don’t mean that with any negative connotations at all. What I mean by it is that she is constructed and created by her own hand and by her own assertive admission. I have no doubt that without her famous ‘bag of tricks’ she is a naturally very attractive girl, it’s simply that her crafted appearance is a highly artificially beautiful look because it is so perfect. In any case, clearly she is one of the elite few that are made to wear Vivienne Westwood as every garment is enhanced by her.”

Sara Horwath is a German freelance designer and illustrator. Recently, I bought this great poster on eBay, directly from the artist. I also received a lovely surprise from her in the mail a week or so later: 10 postcards as a gift! Five each of scans 2 and 3. So happy!
You can view and purchase more of Horwath’s beautiful work on her website. Follow her on twitter and Facebook. She has done a number of Dita inspired pieces.
