“Zou Bisou Bisou” played over the pool surrounded by orange lanterns at dusk on Wednesday celebrating the first of many Cointreau pool parties this summer 2012. A live performance by Dita Von Teese launched the series following an opening act by the Aqualillies who begin their two month residency at the hotel on Fridays (July 13th – August 25th).

Dita wore Jenny Packham to the event before changing into her tear-away costume — also made by Jenny Packham – and performing around 9pm to a crowd of her friends, and friends of Cointreau, and the Beverly Hills Hotel. The Aquallies performed around 8pm and did synchornized swim and dance acts to three songs.

Spotted in poolside cabanas: Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied, Ellen Von Unwerth, electronic music duo Daft Punk, Marissa Tomei, Mary-Louise Parker, former Details editor Annie Flanders, designer Jeremy Scott, Linda Ramone, Wren’s Melissa Coker,Hollywood Reporter’s Merle Ginsberg, author Rose Apodaca, Albert Murcia (who is Dita’s booker and production manager), Kim Kessler (from the Four Seasons PR team), Ashlee Margolis, jeweler Nola Singer and Refinery 29′s Brenna Egan, Tiffany Caronia (who is now handling bookings for the Aqualillies), Magda Berliner & Jesse Johnson, Nico Golfar, and more.

Cute foods: Mini Hamburgers, mini ice-cream sandwhiches, mini Lobster tacos, mini crème brûlée (with a strawberry in each cup).

Returning to its iconic Hollywood roots, The Beverly Hills Hotel and Cointreau created an experience reminiscent of the inimitable glamour and style of old Hollywood, hosting the extravagant launch event as the official kick off of the Cointreau Poolside Soiree seven-week series (July 13 – August 24) and summer bar cart cocktail program at the hotel. The on-going series, beginning this Friday (July 13), will encapsulate the sophistication and culture of a golden era and showcase the true art of cocktail making. Los Angeles locals will be invited to the historic pool from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, without cover charge, to experience chic vintage bar cart service and Cointreau cocktails, signature drinks from the 100th Anniversary menu and special live performance by the Aqualillies and Luca Ellis!

Cointreau Drink Recipes
Cointreau, Lime & Soda
2 oz. Cointreau
1 oz. fresh lime juice
Club soda
Combine all ingredients over ice in a highball glass. Stir briefly.

Original Margarita
1 oz. Cointreau
2 oz. blanco tequila
1 oz.fresh lime juice
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass and add ice. Shake and strain into a Margarita glass.

Sunset Margarita
1 oz. Cointreau
2 oz. watermelon-infused blanco tequila
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. homemade raspberry syrup
Shaken and Served over fresh rocks with a salted rim. Garnish with a lime wheel and mint sprig.

Cointreau Cobbler
1 oz. Cointreau
3 oz. Amontillado Sherry
3 orange slices
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Shake and strain over crushed ice in metal cup. Garnish with fresh fruit: blackberry, raspberry, sliced strawberry and orange, and mint.
