So, this is a real thing: Christian Louboutin makes ballet shoes. SO cool, right? Ultra glam burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese received these custom-made red-soled pointe shoes for part of her onstage performance, and we CANNOT get enough of them. Not only do they come in a pure satin-y black, but she tweeted a photo of her giant Paris delivery, and it also included hot pink and sky blue pairs of the glorious shoes—one even has pink rhinestones along the front. KILLER. Since we basically grew up in a dance studio (thanks talented older sister!), we have a particular soft spot for the red-soled slipper. I mean, the pale pink color of typical pointe shoes is such a snoozefest! We think he should carry these bad boys in ALL dancewear stores across the globe because 1.) It’d be really, really fun and 2.) There NEEDS to be more couture in dance recitals, don’t you think? (P.S.- Can we wear these IRL? Like, on the street? Because we would.)
